You will also be given a various exercises and advice on things we’d like you to do at home. Most often you’ll attend on a weekly basis initially until you can manage your pain. At this point it may mean you only need to attend every couple of weeks or once a month to keep symptoms at bay.

Choosing the right physiotherapist

  • Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Physiotherapists must graduate from study minimum a 3-year degree study program
  • Physiotherapists must be a full member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) to be classified as a Chartered Physiotherapist
  • Physiotherapists help people affected by injury, illness or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice for people of all ages, helping patients to manage pain and prevent disease

After treatment care

Eventually, as your pain settles you should be able to self-manage your symptoms with continuation of your home exercise programme and return to your normal activities/hobbies.
